Meeting Reese

Dear Tutu,

Today I made a new friend named Reese.  It was his 1st birthday party.  First he was shy but later he sat next to me.  I wish I could run around with him so I could make more friends and play with his new toys.  Mommy said some day soon, I will.

Black Friday... or should I say Red and Black with a little Pink

Dear Tutu,

Mommy has a bad cough so we stayed home and relaxed while Dad was out and about.  We watched a lot of movies.  Now that I can see and at farther distances, I LOVE WATCHING TV TOO! (Bad Mommy, teaching me bad habits!)

ADOPTION QUEST: Help Me Grow

Lisa: Alia had a visit from Valerie, an Early Intervention Accessor for Help Me Grow.  What she did was observe if Alia is meeting her age appropriate milestones, and if she was not Valerie would recommend assistance by agencies that can help with speech, physical , occupational and emotional therapy.

I am happy to inform everyone what I suspected, Alia is right on target!  That means she will not qualify for services, which is a good thing.  The daycare and I will be watching Alia over the next year and making sure she continues to develop properly.  If we see any signs of delay I can call Help Me Grow to reassess Alia so she can get the proper help she may need.

Awesome!! No truckin' Alia around between drs. and therapy sessions like we did Nate.  We get to spend all our extra time with her.

I'm glad to have met you, Mrs. Frankel

Dear Tutu,

Tonight Dad took Mommy and I to Cookie's house.  They were having a Shiva for Mrs. Frankel who passed away last week.  Friends came by to say prayers and share memories of this gentle soul.  Mommy said she was one classy and intelligent lady.  She would have been like a great grandmother to me.  RIP.

Cookie time!

Dear Tutu,

Cookie came to visit me today.  I showed her that I can look around from left to right and back, and that I love exercising on my blanket.

I got my vaccination shots

Dear Tutu,

Mommy took me to get my 2-month vaccinations at the Department of Health.  I got liquid in my mouth, two shots in my right leg and one burning shot in my left leg.  Mommy said I was a trooper and only cried for a couple of seconds.  I'm a tough cookie like Dad.

Later at night I got a little fever and my tummy was upset.  Daddy tried to rock me like a football but I wasn't having it.

I is for Intelligence

Dear Tutu,

Mommy and Daddy says I'm really smart for my age.  I'm beginning to recognize voices and faces, and can follow the light and toys with my eyes.  I'm even starting to teach myself how to roll over.  Kick up and fall to the side!  I like to have conversations with Mommy when she talks to me.  She's trying to teach me to say "A-li-a" and "Ma-ma"!  Her mouth opens and closes a lot.

Hope you are having a fun day like me!

Love, Alia
