Daddy has a dream...

His dream is for me to be a pro mountain biker so I can go riding with him on the trails and forests.  Mommy thinks I will make a great biker some day soon!

I got a new swing!

Mommy is funny.  Since my swing is a little big she put my bunny Pinkie in front of me so I don't slide forward.  A nice, lazy way to spend my afternoon outside.

Too much fun at school...

Causes major tiredness!  Mommy said I fell asleep as she was buckling me into my car seat.  She had to get me up from my nap to feed me dinner and give me a bath.  I fell asleep soon after when I got my evening bottle. Good night!

It's Tea time!

My teapot makes boiling and pouring sounds when I tip it. Mommy showed me how to pour pretend tea into my cup.

Nice to see you, Reese!

Look who joined me for some ice cream!  My old pal Reese. It seems we are still binkie buddies.  Oh and Aunt Nikki and his sister Korryn was there too with Mommy.
Mommy and I shared some peanut butter cookie dough carmel vanilla ice cream.  At first it felt funny in my mouth but I got used to it.  Yummy!

Enjoying a nice sunny day

 Dear Tutu,

Aloha Kakahiaka!  Keala and I were up bright and early today.  Mommy wasn't too keen on the idea of playing with me at 5 a.m. in the morning.  She eventually made breakfast for all of us and got me ready for my swimming lesson.  Like my new wet suit?  Mom's trying to protect my skin from the sun.  Amazingly we got to the pool extra early and Mom thought we could hangout in the pool until the lessons start but the cute lifeguard said we couldn't go in.  The instructors wasn't sure if they wanted to teach indoors or out.  Ah come on!  We ended up in the outside pool.  Mom made me wear my pink hat too but I ripped it off in the first 5 minutes of our lesson.

Mommy said I'm going to be a really good swimmer one day.  I am not afraid to lean into the water and use my hands to splash, or lay on my back to glide and kick.  Some of the parents told their kids to kick like me!  My other big lesson today is I got dunked underwater 3 times.  I'm not sure what's going on but at least I didn't scream and cry like the other kids.  I coughed but took it in stride.

As always I had a fun time.  Now time for some lunch...

Love, Alia

So much toys, so little time

Should I read my book? Throw my ball? Solve my puzzle? Hug my teddy?  Learn animals sounds?  Ride my truck? Slide down my slide? Play my guitar?  Slam on my piano?  Or dance to the TV?

Teething sucks

Mom's trying to see my teeth that are coming out on the top.  She said she can see a whole row of them peeking out of my gums.  Maybe that's why I feel so crummy.  They hurt!

ADOPTION QUEST: 90-day abandonment status

Since the Biologicals have not seen Baby for more than 90 days, this case is now deemed child abandonment.  Add that to the list.

A look at a future Surfer Girl

We are in the outdoor pool today since it's sunny outside.
My first board.  It's not a true surfboard, but it's a start.  Daddy helped me do my kicks.  I even did my first head dunks underwater today.  I might have choked and cough a little but I didn't cry.  Because I'm not a scare-di-cat.

Let me out! Let me out!

Sometimes when Mommy or Daddy are busy cooking or cleaning or taking care of Keala they put me in the living room to play.  Normally they let me roam the house so I can play in my room too if I want, as long as Keala is outside.  They don't want me to climb on her; she doesn't like it one bit.  But sometimes they want me where they can see and will block the living room opening so I can't escape.  They used to block the way with my large toys but I've figured out how to move them.  My play pen is harder to move.  Maybe I'll climb out.  I'm a monkey after all!

Helping out my teachers

On Monday, I helped Miss Tammy bring the big kids their breakfast into the classroom.  I walked from my classroom, down the hall to the kitchen and back!
Today I thought I'd help Miss Tammy take all the books out of the container.  She said it wasn't much help because I wouldn't put them back into the container.

Days at the office... (daycare)

Dear Tutu,

At my daycare we have "Grandfriend days" when we go upstairs to the assisted living center for adults and spend time with some of the residents.  Sometimes they hold us and read books to us.  Other times we just entertain them.  Lots of the residents don't have relatives close by so we put a smile on their faces by visiting and spending time with them.  I like that I get to go for a stroller ride upstairs and back.

ADOPTION QUEST: 6-month period is over!

Lisa: It's been 6 months since temporary custody was granted to LCCS.  This is the time frame LCCS was giving the Biologicals to work on their case plan.  Normally LCCS would give families 12 months to work on a case plan but because the Biologicals have already gone through this about a year and a half ago with her siblings (that was eventually given to their Grandmother as legal guardian) and the Biologicals have not completed the same case plan yet, LCCS does not want to drag this case out long.  Let's see what happens next.

My first Fourth of July party

Dear Tutu,

After swimming Daddy took us to his cousin's house for a party.  Cookie and Grandma Chury was there, as well as Aunty Becky and cousins Mikey, Mason, Chase, Brysen and Ayden.  I got to play with sand and climbed a rock wall.
I even got to go swimming again!  I had a great time!  Happy July 4th!

Love, Alia

Daycare meals

Dear Tutu,

I get three meals every day at school -- breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack.  This week I'm starting to eat more solid, table food like the big kids do in the toddler room.  They even give me a plate and a spoon to use but I mostly use my fingers to feed myself.  Sometimes I like the taste of the new stuff.  Sometimes not so much.  I still love my "baba" or bottle of formula.

Here I am with Ms. Shelley in her office.  Not because I am in detention but because my teacher left early and someone had to watch me.  I got to watch everyone coming to pick up my friends and my friends leaving to go home.

Love, Alia
