Permanent custody pre-trial hearing

Lisa: The Biologicals were no shows so the court will post the next court date in the newspaper and will have a final pre-trial next month.

On the upside, LCCS has completed looking for anymore relatives who would be interested in taking Alia as a kinship guardian.  Aaron and I are elated as we have never gone passed this part of the process before. Now we can focus on the future.

Goodbye Lala

I am going to miss my dog Keala.  Mommy said she went to doggie heaven to be with her brother Ikaika.  Keala was very patient with me and let me pet her and give her treats.  She even walked me when I was little.  Who's going to watch our house now?  I love you Lala!

ADOPTION QUEST: Recommendation for permanent custody

Lisa: LCCS has submitted the request for permanent custody this week!  There is a pre-trial hearing set in two weeks just to get all the parties involved -- birth parents, LCCS, the judge, the guardian ad litem, lawyers and all the service providers involved in the case plan -- so they can select a trial date they can all attend.  We are not included.  Usually the trial date is about 3 months down the line because the judge's schedule is full but let's cross fingers that it's sooner rather than later.

The birth parents have not worked on the case plan, have lost employment and is losing their place of residence.  They have not showed up for visits since April as well.  Right now there is a status of abandonment on their case.

In the meantime, Alia has been thriving under our care.  And that's the most important thing for us to focus on right now.

North Ridgeville Corn Festival

We joined Uncle Mikey, Aunt Tina and Kyle to their hometown festival.  There were food and games and rides.  Oh and don't forget the classic cars -- I escorted Daddy to the car show.

After having some ice cream and elephant ear dessert, I was ready to relax in my stroller under the trees.  I even got a huge yellow balloon!

My swimming lessons

We did our usual gliding on our tummies and back.  We also did kicking of the ball and throwing the duckies and swimming towards them.  What's new today is trying our life vests.  I didn't care for it because it felt weird.  Mommy said it was a bit too big for me.

Mommy also caught Daddy doing a dunk underwater.  I went deep and drank some water but I was okay and didn't cry like the other kids in class.

I have one more swimming lesson next week!  Mommy doesn't think I need any more lessons until I'm 18 months and can go into the next class.  But I hope I can come for some swimming on occasion until then!

My 1st Lake Erie Crushers game

Here I am at the All-Pro Stadium in Avon.  We got tickets to see two baseball games for free courtesy of LCCS.  Mommy and Daddy saw some foster parents from their classes while I looked around.

I didn't like sitting in the seat and watching the baseball players hit the ball but I enjoyed saying hi to the crowd and other kids around me.  We ate hot dogs and chips and Daddy took me to the kids playground to check it out.  Happy, silly baby!

 

Mommy said I make a good cheerleader!

Mommy bought my oldest brother Anthony tickets to a future game for his birthday present.  She arranged for him to throw out the first pitch but he doesn't know it yet.  She knows he's more of a soccer player but I hope Anthony and the rest of my siblings and grandparents have fun that day!

Family outing at the Cleveland Zoo

Mommy and Daddy finally took me to the zoo! It was a beautiful day -- the sky was blue and there was a warm breeze under the shade.   I can't wait to see the animals. Mommy's wondering if I will remember my birth family.

 

Mommy said I was a perfect child today, trying to interact with my siblings and showing my family all the things I can do now as a 10.5 month old. They took turns holding me and pushing me in my stroller. I wasn't afraid because Mom and Dad were nearby just in case I missed them. I kept staring at by grandparents who took care of me when I got out of the hospital. I was a happy girl because there were so many kids and babies at the zoo with us! Hi everybody!

 

These are my siblings -- Ariah, my 4 year old sister, Sean, my 7 year old brother and Anthony my big brother who's turning 9 years old this month.

 

Reese was there too with Uncle Dave, Aunt Nikki and Korryn.  He's looking at the elephant wagging his tail.  Elephants are really big!  Bigger than my dog Keala.

 

Mommy paid for my brothers to ride the camel.  My sister thought about it but ended up not going.  They looked happy.

 

At the petting zoo.  I didn't want to touch the pony so Daddy did instead.  Reese watched behind me.

 

Here are my grandparents -- Tall grandpa Rich, Grandma Wendi and Nana Carol.  Everyone say hi!!
