Now I weigh 34 lbs. and am 36 inches tall!
I have all of my baby teeth now and am being potty trained.
I love to talk my baby talk and scream on the top of my lungs,
spin around and around to Disney movies, climb up ladders and rock
walls, will run away even though mommy is calling me to come back,
say "hi!"to everyone passing by, jump into the swimming pool and
slide fast down the water and park slides,  dance and shake my okole,
ride my tricycle around the block and spend lots of time outdoors!
I still don't like changing my diapers and putting on clothes.
My favorite foods are strawberries, oranges and french fries.
I can say Mom, Daddy, Koa, 'Lia, Tutu, Papi, Coo-koo,
hello, bye, more, please, thank you, juice, milk, stop, sit (to Makoa)
up, down, hot, cold, No!!! and alright (I never says yes).
I go to a new daycare, have been on trips to New York, Hawaii, New
Jersey and Arizona, and am taking up swimming and gymnastics.

MILESTONES: Picking apples and pumpkins

Dear Tutu,

Today I am joining my pals Fiona and Annabel for a apple and pumpkin picking adventure!  Mommy, Daddy and Aunt Jen is with us too.
Here we all are, getting silly and taking pictures.  That's Fiona, Annabel, me and Daddy.
Aunt Jen and Mommy being scary
Daddy took me walking through a corn maze.  It was bigger than he thought it was and we actually got lost.
Then we played in the John Deere sandbox.  There were toy tractors that kids could try and maneuver.  I was taken out after awhile since I was eating the sand.
Come on Dad, let's go pick pumpkins!
Look at how tall I am this year!
Look who's taking me around the track with a go-kart!!  Mommy didn't even need Daddy's help pedaling.  I hung on for dear life.

The girls got to go on a barrel train ride.  I couldn't because I was too small to be left alone along the long trial ride.  So Daddy put me in the spare barrel car that had a flat tire and pushed me back and forth.  It was fun!
Look, a pumpkin patch! I really wanted this big boy but I couldn't carry it.  Daddy said we have a long way to go so we can pick a pumpkin up later in the day.  I'll come back for you!
Relaxing with my Girlies -- Fiona and Annabel

We made it to the huge apple orchard.  There were about 6 different kinds of apples to pick.
Everyone started eating the apples so I joined in. Yummy!  Daddy said they were very sweet and juicy.
Everyone helped me pick apples from the trees.  Mommy didn't want me to pick them off of the ground.  Some were already eaten or spoiled.
Another pumpkin patch.  I could carry this smaller ones.  Like the pumpkin I selected?
Everyone started feeling tired from all that walking and running around and carrying our bags of apples around.  So we caught a hayride back to the entrance.
We all had a great time!  Love you!

MILESTONES: It's my first birthday!

When I was born I weighed 7 lbs. 15 oz. and was 20.5 inches long.
Now I weigh 26 lbs.and am 30 inches tall!
I have 8 teeth (and 1 molar on the way).
I'm in size 5 diapers.
I love dancing, the remotes, Mommy's phone, climbing on
everything, playing catch-me-if-you-can, flirting especially
with boys, waving hi!, swimming, and spending time outside!
I don't like putting on clothes and wiping my face clean.
My nicknames are Baby and Sophia.
My favorite foods are pizza and meatballs.
I can say Mom, Dad, ball, hi and bye.
I can run, climb up and down stairs, blow a kiss, clap my hands,
throw and kick a ball, play peek-a-boo, and put my toys in the box.
I have been to the swimming pool, the zoo, many parks, a baseball game,
up in the airport tower, and vacationed in North Carolina.

MILESTONE: 1st swimming lesson

Dear Tutu,

Mommy and Daddy took me to my first swimming lesson today.  Splash Zone is one of our metro parks that is located in Oberlin where Mommy works.  The swimming pool is nice!  The water is slightly heated and the temperature in the room is dropped down so it's humid and warm.

Daddy got in the water with me while Mommy took videos.  She looked like she was sweating a lot sitting by the pool.  I love the water!  I am not afraid to splash it in my face and like it when Daddy let's me float around the other kids.

I can't wait to do it again next Saturday!

Love, Alia
Learning how to swim forward
Kicking off the wall and floating on my back
Jumping into the pool (see how advanced I am?)
Learning how to blow bubbles in the water (aka licking and drinking the water)

MILESTONE: First bike ride in the trailer

Dear Tutu,

Daddy picked me up early from school today so we could go on a bike ride.  Check out my yellow bike trailer!  He thought I would fall asleep but I was busy looking around at everything.  I stayed await during the whole half hour ride!  He was so proud of me.

Love, Alia

MILESTONE: Eating solid foods

Tonight Daddy fed me some spaghetti with meat sauce.  There were actual chunks of food that I had to chew with my new teeth.  It felt weird but the food tasted good!  I wanted more with my pureed veggies.

MILESTONES: 6-month checkup

Lisa:  All is well! Alia is 20 lbs. 4 oz. and 26 inches tall.  She is in the 80-90% range for her age and height.  Dr. Prabhakaran says Alia is hitting all her milestones and seems advanced in her speech and mobility.  I guess all our hard work to educate while playing is paying off!  At the end, Alia got her 6-months shots as well.  She was such a trooper screaming only once.  She got over the pokes in seconds and was back to her happy ol' self before we left.  Next appointment is her 9-month wellcheck!

MILESTONE: Sitting up from a crawl

I practice everyday so I can do this from both sides.  See?

MILESTONES: The chuckle

Although I've been chuckling for a month now, this is the first good video Mommy took of me having fun with Dad.

MILESTONES: Knows her bottle

Dear Tutu,

I love my bottle!  When I see one I get so excited because I know I am going to eat real soon.  Mommy will hold the bottle to me and I can grab it using both of my hands.  I can also direct the nipple into my mouth without poking my nose or eyes.

I can hold my bottle by myself and can lift it up to get more food in my mouth now that I eat sitting up.  Mommy said I'm such a big girl now.

Love,
Alia

MILESTONES: 4-month vaccinations

Mommy had to take me to another town to get my shots today.  Mommy and I missed my appointment because she had it on the wrong week in the calendar.  That means we have to wait in turn as people come in and sign-up.  We didn't have to wait too long and I got to see my placement nurse who remembered me.

I had about 4 shots and one of them really hurt!  I screamed really loud but I settled down right away.  Mommy said I did a great job and that I'm a trooper!

MILESTONES: Eating veggies

Mommy and Daddy started feeding me vegetables today.  I still get some cereal and my formula bottle too.  Today I tried sweet potatoes.  It tasted funny at first but I think I kind of like it!  Yummy!
