Lisa: Surprise!! Since my new job freed up time in the afternoon and nights, Aaron and I decided to try for one more placement. We were notified last week that an infant girl needed a home and we scrambled to get the nursery ready. The birth parents cannot take care of her and three older siblings. Baby has been living with her maternal grandfather and his fiancee for the first month of her life. Unfortunately because of the constant care an infant needs and they will both be working full-time again, the grandparents cannot keep her. Her siblings live with maternal grandmother who was granted legal guardianship.
Sophia arrived today sleeping in her car seat. We got to meet her case worker Jessica too. Sophia is so adorable! First order of business, giving her a bottle! Aaron fed her for the first time while I filled out children services paperwork. She drank her formula quietly and went back to sleep.
